Contribute to the MRG - Min Revenue Guarantee
We needed and received at least $350,000 in local matching funds for the Avelo MRG. Approximately 70% of that was used during the Avelo service period. Remaining funds, if approved by the donor, have been left in the fund for the next MRG. The City and County pledges make up the remaining MRG capability of $500,000 per year for 3 years.
Contributions can be made through the Fly Salem Foundation and are tax-deductible. A contribution is different from MRG deposits from which the participant expects to get a portion back. We have indications that with an MRG of $3 million plus funds for Marketing the new service, there is interest from a major airline to fly daily to their hub and possibly a second destination. We have applied for a second SCASD grant (as of summer 2026) and a new Travel Oregon grant to help boost our MRG capability.
